Argh! It snowed again on Saturday! It’s April already and all the snow pants have holes in the knees :P Time for spring!!
So… ladies. As much as I creative failed with the kind of cliche title, it is somewhat relevant. I know some of you are familiar with older sketches of the girl bears already so I ask that you please don’t spoil it in the comments for anyone who’s not. It’s been fun shaking up the status quo in the bear exhibit; I think the males have gotten a little complacent in their ways :) I’ll probably post some wip and concept sketches for the girls on the FaceBook page in the next little while so feel free to go like BN on FB so you don’t miss them… or you likely still will since FB throttles posts so much… gripe. I will post them on here eventually once the girls debut, but first things first: birthday tea party for an elephant!

I think the dark elephant is male (birthday girl’s dad). Not sure if he’s annoyed at his wife fawning over the bears or because he’s stuck at a tea party.

Also, I really hope the girls have actually interesting and varied personalities like the boys do. Not “Oh I’m a girl so I have a tampon on my belly and I PMS” or “I’m a girl, so I’m a slut.” and etc. Ugh.

I actually had a feeling the beginning would be the guys being guy-er than usual (or just showing all the guy stuff we all know about but didn’t actually SEE) so you could see the contrast. And the horror :D

Tank LOVES tea parties. There are older panels where he has stuffed little dolls (stick dolls) around a tea table and the entire party is going on in his head.
You know, Girls are more than just – the repeated memes. Women, Ladies, can bring a calming influence, or leadership qualities, or even, yes, be a tyrant and scare the daylights out of Evil. but of course, this is the discount zoo, so…. yes, they will be dysfunctional. “Every bear male that has dated her has ended up… (sounds of psyco in the background when evil is taking a shower…)

FINALLY! I haven’t even read the comic for today yet and I have to comment after seeing the title! I have seen the silhouettes of the girl bears on the Bios page for probably 2 years now and have been DYING to see them in the comic! Other than that, I know absolutely nothing of them, so no spoilers from me. :D I wonder if they’re just as psychotic as the rest of them!

One thing I really really liked about this comic is that there were no love interests, because god damn every other piece of media is all about boys and girls hooking up, because honestly, that’s what sells. It’s totally cool that females are being thrown into the mix, and sure, there will be shenanigans and possible dudefights, but if serious love/relationship arcs start to spawn, I’m very quickly going to lose interest, to be completely honest

@Chris: and I respect your opinion. I think that most of us are used to seeing the guys be themselves. They create enough drama on their own XD . In my own opinion, I’m excited to see what the girlies are going to be like. We should still give them a chance, and see how it all plays out. :)

I have a feeling that ONE PARTICULAR FEMALE BEAR will get bored with the guys easily and quickly. </3 And THE OTHER particular bear will get along bff wise with Prozac because they might have SOME THING in common. :D either way, both will end up being sisterly with each other, disinterested (in THAT way) with the males, and using gay’s feminine shelter from the testosterone storm.
