BN Interlude05
Playing around on Photoshop with creepy Death. Might re-do this at a higher res at some point as I kind of like the way it turned out. Hey Sam, want a slightly scary looking poster for your room? :D
If you missed the bonus Friday update click back and check out the hoodie goodness! That poll is technically open till midnight tonight (though I don’t think it’s much of a contest… I actually like the white one the best…) but I’d still love your opinions guys. I’m looking forward to doing more stuff like this in the future, so let us know what you think and we’ll be better able to plan.
Also, Toronto area people come check out TCAF this coming weekend! This is the only con I’ll be getting to this year so I’m really looking forward to it. And the zoo. All three boys are coming with us and we’re going to tour the zoo before we head back to Ottawa so I’m really excited to see how they react. Fortunately my parents are also coming with us to help babysit and maintain my sanity. First long family car trip! Wohoo! Anyway, TCAF is free so it’s a great con to visit casually, and bring kids. They always have lots of stuff for younger readers as well. By the way, Ottawa fans please check out the very first Ottawa Comic Con which is the weekend after! I didn’t try for a table this year as being away from the twins all day is still pretty difficult but we’re planning on checking it out for sure. Hopefully it does very well and will become an annual thing. By the way, I have no idea how a little first year con snagged Patrick Stewart but well done gentlemen.
If you haven’t gotten enough Death lately, here’s more!

Woo! My favorite bear :D
Aw! the final link doesn’t work!
April 30th, 2012 at 12:58 am
YEA he is cool :P GO DEATH!!!
April 30th, 2012 at 1:10 am
I thought it was Evil at first until I saw the skull mark.
Anyway, amazing pic! It’s spooky awesome!
April 30th, 2012 at 1:53 am
Hooray! Nightmares! seriously, he will have them. forever.
April 30th, 2012 at 7:58 am
That last link still isn’t working.Whoever gave Death the coffee, needs to not do that again. This is creepy as creepy could be.Nice to see his scythe in this too! This must be why Crack needed Prozac comforting him on Friday? He must have dreamt of this :D

@Dana — Ditto. Didn’t know Death could smile… especially that dementedly. Caffeine, maybe? Great image, though… a real keeper. THAT would make a terrific shirt. Might even nudge out a “JOIN THE HERD” brony shirt on one’s Saturday trot to the local watering hole. Y’know… if you were into that kind of thing, I mean.
Alison, I just can’t find the Nerd button! Darn, the java applet must be broken. :)
April 30th, 2012 at 8:30 am
AWESOME would love this a t-shirt
April 30th, 2012 at 11:25 am
Dang, I didn’t know it would be THIS one sided of a poll.
Any plans for earless hoodies in the *near* future? I need more hoodies.
Sterling Rodd, wait for the next poll. It’ll have some of those Nerd Boxer shorts you’ve always wanted :P :D

Wrong Wrong Wrong — that picture. Death Bear is just not capable of that. If he were, he would not be so popular.
Now as for Death amongst the flowers from the voting thing, that brings out Death Bear.

This would defiantly look killer on a t-shirt.
April 30th, 2012 at 7:05 pm
@Beta–Underwear? Pfft. Who’s gonna see those? :P
Anyway, I’m not sure I want underwear with a huge weiner on the front. I mean, it might be construed as issuing a cheque my butt can’t cash. :)

Yeah, joking aside… I’m not sure I’m onboard for a hoodie with ears. Anybody old enough to remember Watergate probably shouldn’t try to carry off a hoodie with ears. But I would definitely, definitely buy today’s interlude graphic on a shirt. Or a dark grey (EARLESS!!) hoodie. But if it had to be one or the other, I’d rather a shirt because you can wear that all year, indoors and out.

Good old Death, whether he’s scary or cute he’s inexplicably awesome despite doing so little in the actual story.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:47 pm
That is absolutely stunning. What will make you consider making that a t-shirt design?

Since we’re opening things up for discussion on clothing suggestions…
Things I like in hoodies.. Large enough hoods so that the front doesn’t half cover your forehead or that you have to stretch it to cover over your bang area from cold. Not be extremely baggy, but not small and unfunctional in cold weather. Sleeves that are long enough and with thumb holes if the sleeves are slightly short, or they stitched the underarm seem way too low. Long enough that I dont have to buy the next size up to get it long enough, therefore ending up with a way too baggy hoodie. Designs that are subtle, yet say everything you need to know, I love those. Its says nothing but explains everything. Personal preference, but too much flashy and showy is always too much for me.
I really like the simplicity of the current hoodie designs. Symbol, no words or actions, colors integrated into the hoodie

please make that into a poster, I would totally buy it

Hmmm, yes creepy, and a very nice effect, but the cute flying evil cupid disturbs me a lot more.
May 1st, 2012 at 7:35 am
Oh the joys of smart phones and them posting twice for you. It’s always on a website where you can’t delete anything either.
May 1st, 2012 at 8:37 am
I could see that on a black t shirt- totally awsome, But you know, Death has always been in a way a comfort to the other bears- (except when he had to zap them or he was hooked on coffee…) Hope you have fun at the zoo. Its been ages since I have been to our local one, but, I still have the plastic cup and lid that we got with our lemonaid, and all you have to do is take the same cup back and get a re fill for just 50 cents. :D
Would love to see patric stewart at a con. He is an amazing man! alas, No vacation time, or money (sigh)
ah well, get photos of the two of you together if you can, he is totally approchable! OHHH- you could do a picture of him and the bears, and he could sign it!! :D

It’s okay, Beta… we just figured you were really adamant about hoodies. :)
May 1st, 2012 at 9:08 am
Nah man, I’ll wear any hoodie. But It still won’t stop me from complaining about what’s wrong with them! :D
The zoo thing reminds me that I must utilize my membership sometime and visit more often.

As many suggested, the design would interesting in a cloth, instead of a plain skull.
May 2nd, 2012 at 1:47 pm
I think it should be made of real bone, from the finest milk-fed skulls.
May 3rd, 2012 at 2:36 pm
Oh yea………That is so not creepy at all.
May 3rd, 2012 at 9:48 pm
This is awesome. I would love to have it in a higher resolution for a wallpaper.
As it is, it works perfectly as a screensaver for my Kindle.
May 4th, 2012 at 1:13 am
Also about the hoodies. I like Evil but… The whiite design is nice ans all, yet I am not going to go around wearing a reverse pentagram on my hoodies. I have nothing against the symbol myself, but people are stupid and make quick judgement calls when it comes to stuff like that. Its like your asking to be called up on what your wearing.
Anyone agree or is this just me?
May 4th, 2012 at 2:29 am
I’d totally buy a t-shirt of this
May 4th, 2012 at 6:21 am
@Julian–Geez, I would never have thought of that. I bet that IS pretty cool. I think I’ll try that. :)
April 6th, 2014 at 3:22 am
That picture is so cool! But I still love Death when he’s his usual cute self. Also, the bottom link doesn’t work! No Death for me. V.V
