TG 2024
Happy Thanksgiving Canada.
We’re dealing with some issues here: we kind of had one holiday dinner in the hospital with my dad who just started cancer treatments and had a pretty bad reaction to the first dose. Now they’re trying to get him healthy enough to get the next one (immune therapy every 3 weeks is the goal) but it’s hard to watch him dealing with everything and convinced he’s just going to have to go through all this again after the next dose… we’re early stages and the doctors were optimistic, but I’m worried that HE’S not, and that’s going to affect everything.
Hug your family and friends and be thankful for their presence, for however long we get to stay.
A bit of a throwback image I dug up off an old drive: here’s the gang before the rest of the extended family arrived/crashed the party/ruined everything :D

I’ll be honest. At first, my interpretation of Gay and Lech’s rivalry was that Lech was a homophobe(and straight, not bi) and hated Gay for his sexuality. While Gay hated Lech for being a bigot.
I was wrong on both instances(Lech being homophobic and straight).

Bit unexpected to have a flashback image like this, but it is a nice touch. Also, you have my sympathies for your dad (and wishes for wellness as he goes through cancer treatments). Hope you have a pleasant Thanksgiving and that your dad can bounce back from his poor cancer medication reaction.

Bitter sweet here, good to see that gang from their more cartoony and even more disfunctional days, but you have my condolences for your father and his road to recovery.

Alison, I hope this won’t seem condescending; I really don’t mean it to be. Also in Canada, so it might be even more applicable… About three years ago, a friend of mine was diagnosed with an inoperable cancer affecting the blood vessels leading to the liver. Almost immediately afterward he took such a bad turn that they had his sons in to say good-bye to him. He pulled through that and began his treatments; they had some irritating side effects (taste, strange sensations in the extremities), but my utter amazement, and his too I think, he actually recovered. The tumor shrank to something near microscopic and they’re keeping an eye on it. He actually went back to work about a year ago. Now I know that’s just one case, but I was honestly amazed. If your dad needs encouragement, let him know; they really can do wonders these days.
