TEXT:
The lead lioness prowled forward to introduce herself, a glint of hardness in her gaze, but her blue claws had retracted somewhat. Not all the way of course, as Gay bustled forward with more polish. Prozac bowed his head to her, arm tightening around Cara as she stood beside him and held his paw. “Lora, I can’t say I ever expected to meet you…but I can say I thank you for welcoming my family.”
Her ears were laced back and her posture stiff, but she tilted her large head to him. “We also had not thought to ever tolerate your presence. You and your…family, adhere to ways we don’t…follow. Or perhaps, we each cleave too close to an ideal, and can see some room to…unbend.” She sighed, and nudged Gay with her nose. “This afternoon has been an unusually entertaining diversion.” Gay laughed and swatted her shoulder, “You stuck up bitches needed to UNWIND.”
Prozac winced internally but the lioness didn’t seem offended. She did roll her eyes, but she pinned Prozac with a stare. “We have come to an agreement with the yellow bear, but we will not be this generous always.” She leaned in closer and bared her fangs a little more and Prozac locked his muscles, struggling not to step back. “I can smell the dream herb on you and know you have diverted Lionel for the afternoon. We will let it pass this one time as you have brought us snacks and companionship that is not blustering, infuriatingly male.” She glanced sideways at Lech and Tanked chugging beers and trying to out belch each other. Her and Prozac both shook off an all body cringe and Cara snorted. Lora straightened, “I will know your reasons for this though. What do you seek to find in Lionel’s mind?”
Prozac narrowed his eyes. “You know about the owl’s herbs? The whole mind scape thing?”

Of course the lionesses would know! It wouldn’t surprise me if they were the ones who forced Lionel into the mindscape in the first place…
