This arc was written out loosely in a notebook (I have many lying around, I should probably back them up somehow before a child destroys them) shortly before the new movie came out.  At the risk of enraging some stalwart traditionalist trek fans (sorry Sterling!)… I really enjoyed it.  I haven’t seen much of the original trek so it didn’t ruin anything for me and/or seem blasphemous.  The leads where QUITE pleasant to look at, and it had a frenetic pace that the regular trek series (how do I pluralize ‘series’??) kind of lacked and that I found refreshing.  But they’re not nearly as iconic as bald Picard and yellow skinned Data which really stand out in cartoon form, so TNG all the way.  At least until new Kirk shakes his fist and yells “CUMBERBATCH!!” into the camera.

Both babies are now walking, generally in opposite directions.  I am never more frustrated than when I’m dealing with a Sam whine fest and I hear vent covers removed simultaneously on opposite sides of the room.  I’m curious how many random toys and spare change are down there now.  And Areo roots!  I find those damn things everywhere.

Jayne!  And his hat!  And his Vera!

OH. MY. GOD. That second panel is insanely adorable. This is EXACTLY what I would do too; set up all the crew figures/plushes/dolls, Beverly next to Wes and Picard next to Riker and Worf with Deanna and Data and Geordi and everyone and watch Star Trek all together with them all and eeeeeeeee~ I’m gonna go watch some TNG now! *head explode*

I’m surprised Lech isn’t watching porn.

Yay! I’m mentioned in dispatches! :)

Yay! Fave bear #1 and fave bear #2 sharing the stage! Bear Nuts at its finest. :)

Yay! A disproportionate ursine response is in the forecast! Get out the ‘brellies, it’s gonna be raining AWESOME.

The best ST movie so far has been ST II, The Wrath of Khan, though it was cheapened somewhat by resurrecting Spock in ST III, A Movie So Bad I Forget Its Name. ST IV, The Voyage Home, rates as second because it was the most fun and because it pointed the way to transparent aluminum, which is now a reality, albeit an expensive one for the moment. Because it has the ST:TOS crew, it nudges out First Contact for the number two spot despite its engaging telling of the discovery of warp drive and lots of cool Borg action. After them, passably, Generations. Pretty much all the rest you could pulp and use for TP when you run out of Charmin.

…Whoa. I was just channelling Nerd there. I was feeling so overdressed for a few moments. :)

Search for Spock isn’t so bad… it had Christopher Lloyd. And Undiscovered Country was a brilliantly clever piece that should never be discounted.

    bleheheheh, Another TV fight.
They’re like a happily married couple.. But there’s a lot of them.. Is it possible to have a group marriage?

Given the subtitle for this story, I am intrigued as to what is about to happen. :)

Regarding twins, ah yes, the ‘why can’t I be in two places at once’ scenario. This is when your powers as a parent will grow, soon, you too will be able to head off and round up divergent interests in moment of exquisite premonition. You will learn to recover lost articles of all sorts of intricate and important/disgusting and liquifying matter from the recesses of your abodes ductways and crawlspaces.

That or you’ll develop a well armoured thick skin and attenuated discriminatory aural faculties that will allow you to ignore all but the most important life threatening issues that your children will contrive to drive you slowly mad with ingenuity.

It’s a parent of Twins thing,
    welcome to the club,
    No, we don’t have ‘meetings’
    who has the time?

no end for the other story ?

And there can’t be “disproportionate” response if the receiving guy is Lesh, so nya.

I invested in this for my very rambunctious 1 year old who learned how to walk at 8 months and how to run a month later. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001V6422Y/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 Pricy, but it’s the best money I’ve spent so far as a parent. It’s large enough for the kid to exercise, have play dates, toss in a ton of toys, and for you to get in with them and play. Worth the peace of mind.

@D.Durand: It ended.. it was just a rather subtle end. I had to take a second look to see the actual ‘End.’ text on the last panel, myself. I think the point was that the main question of the story had been answered, and any ‘loose ends’ or ‘side events’ seemed like they were sorting themselves out rather effectively at the end of the last page, anyway. Again, it seemed a bit more subtle than past ends, I guess.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Lech is leering at the Beverly Crusher doll in the second to last panel? After all it meets his criteria (as outlined to Evil): Breas-…uh, chest…check, pulse…optional. Then again, maybe he’s just a bit put out cause he just sat on the Picard doll.

Oh, and I can’t forget: YEA JAYNE!!!!!
Alison, your Firefly art it awesome! :)

*wanders off singing with a dazed (crazed?) fans’ smile*

Jayne, the man they call Jayne…
He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor.
Stood up to the man and he gave him what for.
Our love for him now, ain’t hard to explain,
The hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne!
